No Surprises Act Information

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the total expected cost for any non-emergency medical items and services.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your health care services. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1.800.985.3059.

More About Kent

Not sure if a group experience is right for you?

While being in a group setting can feel vulnerable, groups can provide a safe place to explore and learn alongside others, and realize you are not alone. Groups can be a place to do individual work that can’t be done alone. Our goal is to create a hospitable, safe, and confidential space that invites curious listening, supported sharing, and meaningful connection. Each experience strives to create this environment through practices that build trust and a sense of emotional safety.

What is the difference between a workshop, group, and retreat?

Workshops are educational and experiential, and usually occur over 1–3 days.

Groups are centered around specific themes and/or populations. They typically meet weekly or bi-weekly for a series of 6–10 sessions and are a deeper dive into both your own story and the topic at hand.

Retreats are an opportunity to engage in a deeper dive into rest, silence, and self-care coupled with facilitation and experiential learning to promote healing and growth.

Not currently a client with Second Journey Counseling?

You do not need to be a current client with Second Journey Counseling to participate in our events. Please feel free to explore the offerings, and register for anything that might support you on your journey towards healing and change.

The Daring Way™

Nancy has been certified with The Daring Way™ since 2012, and has received extensive training in the work and research of Dr. Brené Brown. This certification provides Nancy access to curriculums that were developed by Dr. Brené Brown and her team that focus on courage building, shame resilience, and uncovering the power of vulnerability, These resources are utilized by Nancy in her individual counseling, as well as groups, workshops, and retreats.
Brené Brown describes the progression of her work as:
Be You. Be All In. Fall. Get Up. Try Again.

Nancy offers 3 different opportunities based on curriculums designed by The Daring Way™.

Be You.

The Gifts of Imperfection™ is a big invitation to Wholehearted Living. It was designed to explore the question “how can I live and love from a place of worthiness?” By dropping the hustle to be perfect and in control, and cultivating the practices of courage, connection, and compassion, you can embark on a journey towards discovering the most authentic version of you!

Be All In.

Daring Greatly™ was created with the primary focus on developing resiliency to the fears that hold us back, so that we can show up, be seen, and live bravely in the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

Fall. Get up. Try again.

Rising Strong™ is based on the simple physics of vulnerability: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. This is a curriculum about what it takes to get back up, and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.
